GALAXY GIRLS FINISH THE SUMMER INDOOR SEASON WITH 6 WINS, 1 LOSS, 1 TIE

Aug 22: Galaxy Girls Tie Total 90 White 3-3

Galaxy Girls tied the indoor soccer season finale today 3-3. Total 90 came ready to play today! They scored first. Big footer Ariana came back to tie the game. Before the half, Ariana fired another one in the goal, and Total 90 planted 2 balls in the net. It was 3-2 before the half.

In the second half, both teams played big defense. Goalies for both teams stood strong in the goal. Total 90 and Galaxy had breakaway runs, but were stopped by defenders or the goalie. The crowed chanted, "Here we go Galaxy, here we go!" Galaxy got fired up. Forwards started striking! Michele's power foot scored to tie the game 3-3. Galaxy got their momentum back with more shots up court. Unfortunately, it was a little too late. The game ended in a tie: no OT, no shoot out!

At the June 27 match, Galaxy out scored Total 90 White 5-2.

Other Highlights of the game:

Anuhea played "Defensive Tackle" as she bumped Total 90 when the ball wasn't in play! She also had a big stop in the first half as she blitzed back to the goal, stepped in front of the Total 90 player steps away from Goalie Michele, took the ball, and headed down court!
As striker Gabriela fired at the goal! She hustled to follow the shots to the goal. In the back, she swept up balls and sent them flying.
Genevieve fought hard for balls up against the wall, and won them!
Bethanee assisted Ariana on a goal. Again, she raced down court with the ball many times.
Jessi covered the ball to defend the goal as goalie! She had many big kicks down court, and when she didn't have a striker in front of her, she dribbled down court until she was clear to pass to a teammate!

Congratulations on a beautiful season, Galaxy Girls! What an awesome year. Many wishes to you on your new teams. Mahalo to Coach Jason and Coach David for their work this year. Great job.

Get ready for the upcoming game! Bliltz U9 White will challenge Blitz U8 Orange. Galaxy will have girls on two sides of the field. The competition will take place at Waiau next Sunday, time TBA. See you there!

August 15: Galaxy Shuts Out Samba

Galaxy shut out Real Rush Samba this morning 1-0! Goalies Michele and Jessi held tough in the goal stopping every ball. Awesome job, girls!

At half time, the game was still scoreless. Halfway through the second half, Ariana fired a shot. The goalie fumbled, and she scored! Congratulations Ariana.

Jessi, Michele, and Gabriela swept up the backcourt as sweeper. They stopped dozens of balls and sent them back to sender. Beautiful.

Anuhea, Makana, Ariana, Bethanee, Geneveive, and Gabriela led the front line as strikers. Again, they had multiple shots on the goal keeping the defenders on their toes. Stars Anuhea and Makana showed off their fast footwork.

Great job, Galaxy Girls! You are out of this world.
Don't miss their last game against Total 90 White next week.

Again, Coach Shane, Total 90 Coach, commented that Galaxy is "GOOD."

…after the game the Referee gave us a couple really nice compliments. He said that our girls have shown a lot of improvement and are playing very good. He mentioned that the other team was playing really aggressive and that Galaxy was more under control and did not retaliate on any of their pushing. He said he could have called a lot more fouls on the other team.

Galaxy Scores Big in Two Games Today!

In the 10am game, Galaxy tramples over Total 90 Blue 7-0. Michele and Jessi shut this Real Rush team out at the goal! Awesome job girls.

Bethanee lead the way with the first goal. Other scoring shooters were Arianna, Michele, Makana, and Gabriela!

Kudos to Genevieve to her great follow throughs on goal. Congratulations Galaxy.

In the next game, Honolulu Galaxy brought out their U9 girls who towered in size over our girls (remember we're still a U8 team). Honolulu Galaxy scored first in the first half. Ariana tied the game at 1-1. Blitz held strong as Honolulu Galaxy whacked the ball big around the court. In the second half, Bethanee scored making the game 2-1. Bethanee was robbed of another goal that was called back. The referee also didn't count another goal that the goalie caught inside the goal. But Blitz Galaxy still came out victorious.

Awesome job Blitz Galaxy.

Side note--when you watch a Galaxy game now, you can see how much the girls have improved. Remember our first season? Girls have skills. Ariana can pull back the ball, Makana fakes one way then goes the other, Bethanee speed dribbles down court, Jessi stopped the strikers, Gabriella and Genevieve are passing the ball to their team mates, Michele is converting her shots into scores! The list goes on and on...

July 26 - Galaxy Explodes Against Whitmore Extreme 7-2

Galaxy Girls outscored Whitmore Extreme 7-2 today at Wahiawa Gym. Power footer Arianna, a.k.a Mama, scored 5 goals! Michele fired one past the goalie too! The other goal came as a present from an Extreme defender. Assisting Mama were Bethanee, Genevieve, Gabriela, and Michele. The girls had dozens of attempts on goal, but the Extreme defender and goalie hung tough.

Defending the goal were were Michele and Jessi. They both stopped attacks as goalies and sweepers. Gabriela also cleaned up Extreme's balls as a defender.

Other highlights from the game included Bethanee powering as right wing blitzing down court with the ball tons of times. She raced past the boys in black. Gabriela headed the ball! Way to use your head. Genevieve attacked the goal a few times following the ball in not giving the Extreme goalie any wiggle room. Great hustle.

The Exteme goalie needs to be commended for the many blocks that he had. No fear. Kudos to Whitmore's sweeper in the first half. He stopped many balls right in front of the goal.

Be there for a double header on August 9 for matches against Total 90 Blue and Honolulu Galaxy.

Galaxy showed lots of team work today. Awesome job girls. Congratulations Galaxy!

GALAXY MARATHON!

Galaxy Girls had a marathon with back to back games on Saturday. Vapor scored big with three goals first. Before the half, Galaxy put one in the net making it 3-1. (Sorry, we can't remember who scored it!) With a half time pep talk, the girls were ready. Jessi checked their star player against the wall, and she had to leave the game. Oops! Vapor scored another point making it 4-1. Galaxy returned the ball, and scored right back. It was a battle as each team had many shots on goal. Before the game whistle, Galaxy scored one more time. Arianna had a goal! (Sorry to the other two girls we can't remember.) Chalei protected the goal. The crowd roared, but the whistle blew. Galaxy fought to the end with a final score of 4-3. Awesome job, Galaxy!

The Galaxy Girls played Total 90 White in the second game. Total 90 scored first. Then, Galaxy came back with a point. All the girls played tough and hustled. Hands flew in the air as both teams pushed. Girls bumped. Scoring shooters in the game were Anuhea, Chalei, Makana, Bethanee, and Zoe. Ariana and Makana defended the goal. Michele attacked the goal with attempts. The final score was 5-2. It was a fun and exciting game to watch.

Galaxy Bulletin - June 21

Galaxy-6, Total 90-3

Congratulations to the Galaxy Girls for their win today! Here are the highlights...

1. Makana scored 4 goals! She also powered in the goal during the 2nd

half.

2. Bethany fired a goal! She had many other attempts at the goal.

3. Genevieve blasted one in the net! She lead her team down court by

dribbling as left wing.

4. Gabriella towered in the goal for much of the game. She too dribbled up

court many times as center striker.

5. Jessi was vicious with her big kicks down court as sweeper. She

assisted Makana's goal. Also she had many shots at the goal.

Awesome job Galaxy! You know...that's right! Cheew-hoo.
